In 2007, a national organization for mental health in England launched Mental Health First Aid England. It was part of a national strategy to improve the mental health of the public.

The organization also launched a two-day course that’s geared toward helping young people. This program was first introduced in England in 2010.

The Armed Forces MHFA course was launched in 2013. It was specifically designed for members of the Armed Forces, including veterans and their families.

The Royal Society for Public Health recognized the Armed Forces course as an instructor training program that can deliver two-day courses.

Over 114,000 individuals have been trained in England as Mental Health First Aiders. The Department of Health also encourages employers to offer this training as part of their employee training programs.
